LiveLifeBlue℠ Awards Program

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina created the LiveLifeBlue program to encourage fellow South Carolina employers to play an active role in promoting health and wellness. We believe that companies have a responsibility — and a powerful opportunity— to improve the well-being of the people at their company and in their community. 

About the Employer Awards

Each year, BlueCross hosts the LiveLifeBlue employer awards to recognize South Carolina companies that set the bar for corporate responsibility in the area of employee health and well-being. Recipients of the coveted “Blue Shoe” award have implemented corporate-level policies and programs such as:

  • Tobacco-free workplaces
  • On-site gym access and fitness classes
  • Company-sponsored intramural leagues
  • Rewards programs and creative fitness challenges
  • Healthy cafeteria menus, healthy catering and healthy vending machines
  • On-site flu shots, health screenings and health clinics
  • Incentive programs for completing healthy activities
  • On-site child care
  • Financial counseling and education reimbursement
  • Ongoing educational campaigns

Future Winners

Who can win a LiveLifeBlue award?
BlueCross’ large group customers (50+ employees) are eligible for LiveLifeBlue awards. Your company must be a customer for at least 12 months at the time of the call for nominations.

How do you apply?
The call for nominations will be announced toward the end of the calendar year. All eligible customers will receive the call for nominations and a link to the online application.

Who can submit the application?
Any employee can nominate his or her company. We recommend having someone in a human resources or wellness role complete the application to ensure all of the necessary details are included.

When will BlueCross announce the winners?
Each year, the winners are announced at BlueCross’ Group Leader Workshops in March. This will be followed by a press release.

What can my company do to win a LiveLifeBlue award?
There are many different ways to support a healthy workplace. And creativity is always a bonus with the LiveLifeBlue awards committee. The most important thing is to look at all aspects of your employees’ health — supporting their physical, financial, social and professional well-being. The previous LiveLifeBlue winners are examples for other companies to follow.
