Not all of our members have mail-service prescription drug benefits. Please check your health plan details or ask your benefits coordinator to make sure you do. Or, log into My Health Toolkit® for personal information about your prescription drug coverage.
Your time is valuable. With Caremark's mail-service prescription drug program, you can get your prescriptions delivered by mail directly to your home in plain, tamper-evident packaging. On behalf of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Caremark assists in the administration of the program. Caremark is an independent company that provides pharmacy benefits management. When you order by mail, you can get up to a 90-day supply of medication, with free standard shipping. You also get a 24-hour, toll-free hotline to speak with a registered pharmacist about any questions or concerns you may have. And, you can even set up alerts on Caremark's website to let you know when your refills are available or when your prescriptions are shipped.
Just call Caremark at 866-465-2496 to enroll in its FastStart service. The representative will contact your doctor for your prescription. You'll need your member ID number, the name of your drug, your doctor's name and phone number and your shipping address. You will also need to provide a credit card number to pay for your mail-order prescription, along with the expiration date for the card you use.
Or, ask your doctor to call the prescription in for you. The FastStart number for doctors is 800-378-5697. Be sure to give your doctor your member ID number, your mailing address and your phone number. Once your doctor calls in your prescription, Caremark will contact you to get your payment information.
You can also ask your doctor for a new prescription for up to a three-month supply of your medication, with three refills, if appropriate. Once you get your prescription, print and complete the mail-service order form. Mail the order form, along with your original prescription(s) and payment, to the address at the bottom of the form.
