The Try Generics Drug List requires you to try a generic before your plan covers brand-name drugs that treat 12 common health conditions. For some conditions, you can also use an alternative brand-name drug. If the generic and alternative brand-name drugs aren't right for you, your doctor can request an exception for you. If you are approved for an exception, you will pay the highest copayment under your plan for your brand-name drug.
The Try Generics Drug List is subject to change at any time, but we generally make updates on a quarterly basis. You can continue to use brand-name drugs on the list, but you will pay 100 percent of our special discounted rates or the pharmacy's charge, whichever is less.
