Columbia, S.C. -- BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina are working with United Networks of America (UNA) to expand the availability of cosmetic surgery as part of the discount and value-added programs for members.
Previously, discounted cosmetic surgery services were limited to providers in South Carolina. Members now are able to access cosmetic surgery providers across the country.
To take advantage of these services, BlueCross BlueShield and BlueChoice HealthPlan members present their insurance ID cards when they visit a participating cosmetic surgery provider anywhere in the nation. Members will receive discounts of at least 20 percent less than the non-discounted charges from these in-network providers.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, members may visit SouthCarolinaBlues.com, BlueChoiceSC.com, or call UNA at 866-323-2084.
"Expanding our cosmetic surgery program reflects our ongoing commitment to help members look their best and feel their best," said David Boucher, BlueCross assistant vice president for health care services. "As we continue to grow, it is important to offer more value to our members. Many reside outside of South Carolina and UNA offers a great service to them."
Discounted procedures include breast augmentation, chin augmentation, eye lid surgery, face lift, liposuction, ear pinning, and nose surgery, as well as non-surgical procedures such as laser resurfacing, soft tissue fillers, cosmetic injections, chemical peels and dermabrasion.
This program will be offered through UNA's American Cosmetic Surgery Network division, which features cosmetic surgery as well as eyeglasses, hearing aids and prescription drugs under discount programs through health plans.
BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina is a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. Both are headquartered in Columbia, S.C., and are independent licensees of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, an association of independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans.
