S.C. BlueCross Promotes Raad Joseph to Lead Business Process Outsource Unit

Columbia, S.C. – BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina has promoted Raad Joseph to head its National Alliance division, a business process outsource unit that serves other Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies.
 
He replaces Mike Griggs, who retired after 39 years with the company.
 
Created in 2000, National Alliance provides out-of-state Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans back office services for national group accounts under the branding of the host Blue Cross and Blue Shield company. Services include claims processing, customer service, medical/disease management programs, consumer-driven health plan administration, pharmacy benefits management, reporting, web-based eligibility management, and online billing.
 
Raad JosephIn his new role as senior vice president, Joseph is responsible for planning, budgeting, operations, sales, profitability and partner relationships. He has 17 years of experience with BlueCross, most recently as assistant vice president for sales and marketing of National Alliance.
 
Prior to joining BlueCross, Joseph worked in sales, marketing and operations with companies in Charleston, S.C., Montgomery, Ala., and Louisville, Ky. He holds a degree in marketing and economics from Charleston Southern University, Charleston, S.C., and has coached children’s soccer, served in church leadership positions and held membership in Rotary International. He serves on a national Blue Cross and Blue Shield board committed to improving health care for American workers.

National Alliance serves seven of the 39 Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies, including accounts comprising a total of more than 450,000 members.
