Medicare Advantage: Completion of SOAP Notes Program

May 30, 2014

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Medicare Advantage is discontinuing use of the SOAP Note Program effective June 30, 2014. Our partner, Inovalon, Inc., and we determined that we collected sufficient patient data for our members and the program is complete. Inovalon is an independent company that handled member's health status documentation on behalf of BlueCross.

You can continue to submit paper and electronic SOAP Notes until the program discontinuation date. We will offer the incentives of $25 for paper and $100 for electronic SOAP Notes up to June 30. After that date we will no longer accept or process any SOAP Notes. We will process all incentives related to the submission of fully completed SOAP Notes through June 30, 2014, accordingly.

Letters sent to you about using ePASS® for electronic SOAP Notes completion and to your patients about Patient Health Assessment appointments will stop going out June 1, 2014.
